You might be asking yourself the same thing I asked myself, “Is this image really on display at the Natural History Museum of Utah!?”. To answer YES!! But technically, not until October.

Last summer, the museum held a “Nature All Around Us” contest for their upcoming 50th Anniversary. I can’t fully remember the details, but I remember I submitted a handful of images I’ve taken of bugs, animals, etc. around our backyard and the local area. To be honest, I didn’t think much about it until earlier this year when I received an email stating that I had won and my dragonfly image will be on display from October 2019 thru May 2020.

Still, as I type this, I can’t hardly believe it.

But the best part in my opinion, is that just yesterday I received a second email stating that not only did my image win to be on display, it also won along with two other photographers, to have our images on the museums admission tickets during the 8 month event. The image above is what they sent me of what it will look like. My image. My name. On a museum’s admission ticket.

I’m humbled. I’m shocked. I’m ecstatic. I’m nervous. I’m happy. I’m emotional. The list goes on. Just thinking about seeing it in person brings tears to my eyes. It’s crazy.

There will be an opening day celebration for the photo contest winners in the coming weeks. When that occurs, I’ll share images (maybe even a story or two to my instagram), and possibly more.

Huge thanks to everyone that’s supported me through this journey, hired me as their family photographer, and encouraged me along the way. Cheers!
